Step Down - Floating Support

“Do you need a young person to be supported while on a tag?

Do you need secure accommodation and floating support?

We may be able to help!”

Floating Support & Solo Residential Living

Blossom Hill Support Services offers floating support within our stand-alone units, tailored to meet each young person’s individual needs. Our approach is designed to engage young people fully and build trusting relationships that promote positive change and outcomes. All placements are preceded by a thorough risk assessment, and we can accommodate same-day placements if a quick transition is deemed beneficial, provided the placement objectives align with the home’s purpose.

Who Could Benefit from Solo Occupancy Homes?

Our solo-occupancy homes support young people who are ready for independence and require additional support hours. The focus is on creating a safe environment through relationship-building, life skills training, and independent living skills development.

How We Support Young People in Single Occupancy Homes

Our single-occupancy homes offer consistency, routine, structure, and appropriate boundaries. This environment allows young people to feel secure, fostering growth in regulatory skills, self-esteem, and independent living skills. We take a holistic approach to enhance independence and emotional well-being, providing access to activities and trips organized by us or our partner agencies.

Outcomes for Single Occupancy Homes

  • Improved emotional stability
  • Reduced risk-taking behavior
  • Building of trusting relationships
  • Ensuring young people feel safe and heard
  • Supporting maintenance of relationships with family, friends, social workers, and therapists where appropriate
  • Enhanced engagement with education and extra-curricular activities
  • Development and maintenance of independent living skills

About Group Living

Our residential team collaborates with landlords, local authorities, commissioners, and young people to identify the most suitable residential care placement based on individual needs and requirements.

Who’s It For?

We offer placements to young people who have experienced:

  • Readiness for independence
  • Need for a secure address for tagging
  • Release from prison
  • Places of safety
  • Need for specialist support

We draw on practice-based evidence and current research in child development, attachment, neuroscience, and therapeutic community work. We provide safe and secure homes in both same-sex and mixed-sex capacities.

How We Support Young People in Floating Support/Standalone Homes

Except for emergency placements, all our services provide an integrated Care, Education, and Therapy package. We aim to make positive progress in young people’s lives through collaboration with key professionals and placing authorities. Our team conducts assessments at the time of referral to understand each young person’s past and present, developing a holistic plan that includes education, care, and therapy. We work closely with young people to develop their Care Plans and provide support to achieve their goals and aspirations.
